John The Baptist

After 400 years of silence since the end of the Old Testament, many people believe the birth of Jesus is the first time God shows up in the Bible.  But before we read about the birth narrative of Jesus, Luke tells us about another miraculous birth, the birth of John the Baptist whom God called to prepare the way for Jesus’ ministry.  In this message, we look at all the connections between the angel Gabriel’s announcement to Zechariah that John the Baptist would be born and the special announcements God had made to other Old Testament saints.  Ultimately.
