The Paraclete

Advocacy is a growing yet often misunderstood role in our world. Whether in foster care, healthcare, or finances, advocates actively help others navigate life’s complexities. In John’s Gospel, Jesus reveals the ultimate Advocate—the Holy Spirit, or Paraclete—who comes alongside us to help, teach, guide, and empower. The Spirit does more than provide comfort or assistance; He points us to Jesus, convicts the world of truth, and equips believers to follow Christ wholeheartedly. While Jesus walked among His disciples, the Spirit now dwells within us, giving direct access to God’s presence and power. But like appliances in a home, we must stay “plugged in” to experience His work in our lives.
